Module 5 of 6 · 4 minutes
The book
Without looking: how much is on your book right now?
A guess. That's the point.
Driving a taxi? Nothing here for you. No book in a taxi. Module 6 has a couple of minutes that do apply.
Nothing you type here is sent anywhere.
The idea
Money on the book is not money.
It's stock you gave away and hope to be paid for.
Nobody is going to tell you to stop giving credit. In most streets you'd be closed by Friday. That's not the advice.
The advice is a cap, and writing it down. Let's see where you are.
The book
Who owes you?
Name, amount, how old. Family too, especially family.
The gap
You guessed
It's actually
That's your cap. The whole book shouldn't go past it.
Your cap
They'll just go to the next shop
The cap isn't refusing anyone. It's "the book is full this week". Different sentence, different relationship, and it comes back open next week.
It's family
Family is the biggest part of most books and the part that comes back least. Writing it down is what makes it a debt instead of a gift. You can still decide it's a gift. Decide it, don't drift into it.
I remember who owes me
You remember the big ones. The small ones are where the money actually is, and you just proved it upstairs.
Your book
My cap
On the book today
Name, amount, date. Every time.
Back to all six
Module 6, Where the money sleeps, is the next one.
